Bruker apex software6/12/2023 ![]() So, we replaced all the limit switches with new ones. Upon, starting the instrument we encountered the same error and the same problem with no movement of the goniometer.Ģ) Upon further investigation we found that due to issues related to failed limit switches our "Omega" axis rotated more than the prescribed limits for the axis (see attached document called "Kappa Goniometer Issues" for details). Consequently, it torqued/rotated the wires inside the central part of the goniometer and created a strain/tension in the lines due to which a lot of the wired connections to both the "motor" and the "encoder" to the "Kappa" and "Phi" axis got yanked from their positions. We thought that we had potentially managed to open things up and located the source of the problem. But, unfortunately the wires connecting the motherboard to the motor and encoder for the kappa and phi axis had gotten so twisted that we needed to replace them.ģ) We obtained new encoder cables from Bruker and managed to replace all the cables. We reassembled the goniometer assembly and were hoping that all issues would be resolved and the instrument would start up normally. We still get the same error messages and the goniometer just does not move.
